N.W.ゲーゼという人は、名前すら聞いたことなかったです。
ニルス・ウィルヘルム・ゲーゼ（またはガーゼ、ガーデ、Niels Wilhelm Gade, 1817年11月22日, コペンハーゲン – 1890年12月21日, コペンハーゲン）はデンマークの作曲家・指揮者・音楽教師。北欧諸国の音楽界の近代化に貢献した。（Wikipedia）

Written in 1841, this is one of Gade’s earliest piano works. Gade revised it in 1873, but I believe that my performance is of the original version (Augener’s UK edition). There is a commercial recording available, and I note that some of the notes in the accompaniment differ. The score indicates (incompletely) some repeats in the first piece, but as they do not seem to make any musical sense I have ignored them – the right-had patterns with accompanying chords within an octave melody are very strenuous to play for anyone with
